This Cal 246 was groundbreaking when it came on the scene in the 1970s. And, to coin a phrase, they don’t make ’em like that any more. The salon and aft cabin are huge, and the engine room befits a cruising boat. The lineage goes straight back to Bill Lapworth’s Cal 40, so this cruiser is also a good sailing boat. Many cruisers of that vintage simply were not. After cruising the boat in the PNW, the new owner and his Texas friends plan on sailing TJ through the Panama Canal for cruising in the Caribbean.
